Our Chardonnay is made using whole bunch basket pressing, wild yeast and extended ageing in French oak barrels before being bottled at the property without fining or filtration.

Instantly recognisable as a ‘Grove Hill’, the 2017 Chardonnay is very well balanced and integrated yet still powerful. Definitely a serious wine, but so deliciously drinkable and harmonious.

The colour is pale gold like a nice vintage champagne. The nose is savoury with some toasty and floral characteristics like star jasmine. Other delights on the nose include white peaches, coconut, pineapple, vanilla, lychee and marzipan with a very faint hint of struck match. On the palate the flavours are like the nose and are enhanced by an earthy freshness. A very tasty wine with an elegant mouth feel.
